I’ve read so many articles talking about how we are always “waiting” for happy. Waiting for summer, waiting to lose those last few pounds, waiting until you’re married, waiting for the kids to be grown, waiting for vacation, waiting for retirement, waiting…waiting.

I think we get so caught up in looking to the future that we forget to look back at how far we have come. We forget to celebrate our small accomplishments that are getting us closer to our bigger goals. Because the truth is, there is always going to be more that we want. There will be bigger goals to achieve and bigger milestones to reach. As soon as our nearest one is within reach, another one will come up.. Or, at least, for me that’s the case. All too often I forget that sometimes I should celebrate how far I’ve come. You should too.

Celebrate where you are. Right now.

For me I’m celebrating new phases in life. I’m celebrating how far I’ve come with The High Road Agency since graduating from ETSU. I’m celebrating the new friends I’ve made along the way. I’m celebrating being a “dog mom” for a year. And, I’m celebrating a new position in a field I’ve wanted to work in since my freshman year in college: market research.

I’ve accepted a position with a market research company called Smarty Pants. Although this will be my last blog for The High Road Agency, it won’t be the last you’ll see of me, that much is for sure.

I wanted my final blog to be one of celebration. I wanted it to remind you that while you should always have goals, you should celebrate the journey to those goals and every small victory on your way. Because if you spend your entire life waiting, you just might miss it.

Besides, I always look for reasons to celebrate. {Pictured celebrating at Fizz soda bar with ice cream floats}
