Our very own, Josh Mancuso, took home some awards for film work he did in a Knoxville competition. See press release below. We are so proud of him!
JOHNSON CITY, TENNESSEE – A local filmmaking team brought home three awards after competing in the 54 Film Fest in Knoxville, TN.
The competition featured 29 teams and challenged filmmakers to write, shoot, edit, and produce a 7-minute film in 54 hours. The competition began at 6:00pm on Friday, March 31 and ended at 11:59pm on Sunday, April 2. The film screenings and awards ceremony were held at the Regal Downtown West Cinema in Knoxville, TN, last weekend.
The Johnson City team was led by Josh Mancuso, Gabe Hobbs, and Brad Bode. Mancuso served as the film’s Producer and Lead Actor. The film, entitled “Triangle,” was written and directed by Hobbs and Bode, and edited by Hobbs. Supporting actors included Matt Quick and Michelle Cassedy. The film featured scenes in downtown Johnson City, including Main Street Pizza Company, as well as a local student apartment near ETSU.
The film, which is a drama, garnered two awards: Best Plot Twist and Best Montage. Mancuso was awarded Runner-Up for Best Lead Actor.
“I’m proud of our entire team and honored to receive these awards,” said Mancuso. “Brad and Gabe crafted a compelling story and pieced together a quality film with great cinematography and creative editing. It was a crazy weekend, but we made it happen. We can’t wait to do it again!”
The group has plans to continue making films together locally.
