Around this time every year I evaluate my accomplishments and failures for the past year. Based on my evaluation I start to formulate my goals for the new year or add new ones depending on what I am interested in achieving.

I am the type of person that lives by lists. There is something very rewarding about crossing an item off my list—a real sense of accomplishment! My goals list for a new year usually consists of my top 5 things that I want or need to do.

Here is an example of what my personal goals list might look like:

  1. Lose 50 lbs.
  2. Take a family vacation.
  3. Read 10 new books.
  4. Finish my Master’s Degree.
  5. Save $3,000

I learned long ago that if you want your life to change or improve that you need to stretch yourself and set the bar high. Even if you fall short of your goal, you will still have achieved much because the standards or expectations of yourself have been raised.

Not only is it important to set the bar high in our personal life, it’s important to do this for business or work as well. The High Road Agency is a full-service marketing agency that helps businesses achieve success and become more profitable by providing services like Web Development, Video Production, Creative Design, Search Engine Marketing, Target Advertising, Promotional Products, Reputation Management, as well as Traditional Advertising.

Challenge yourself in this new year to achieve great things by setting the bar high in your personal and business life.
