Mike’s passion for work and family balance is as multi-faceted as the omnichannel solutions that he’s been offering marketing and advertising clients for more than 30 years. Mike is the Vice President-Digital for APG, parent company of The High Road Agency, and current Interim Director at HRA. Prior to joining APG four years ago, he was in national and local digital leadership roles at The Charlotte Observer and BH Media. He’s been assisting business owners, tourism/chamber divisions, Fortune 500 companies, government agencies, and more with their marketing services for more than three decades. From targeted solutions like Programmatic, Video, Search & Streaming Television, to Social Media Management, Targeted Email, Web Development & Event Marketing, Mike and his teams across APG & High Road steer the marketing for more than 20,000 businesses monthly across 15 states. Mike and his wife have three grown children, and are avid hikers and outdoor enthusiasts. Mike is also very involved in his church, as well as on the board of directors for national and local organizations.

Kate Van Huss

Director of Digital Advertising and Social Media

Kate’s life mantra of “be good, do good” drives her to do anything she does with her whole heart. Her pursuit of knowledge and understanding about the human experience led her to pursue a Bachelor of Science in History and Philosophy at ETSU. She has developed her professional career for over 20 years in roles within Sales and Marketing from wedding and event planning to grassroots and digital marketing. As a military brat born on the North Carolina coast who has lived in places from the Far East to the Wild West, Kate’s adaptability to change led her into her role as Director of Digital Advertising and Social Media with HRA. Family relationships, passion for local dining and community growth, and her love of journaling through Instagram inspire her along the path of living her most authentic self.

Trey Fowler

Director – The High Road Agency
Trey has an advertising degree from UNC-Chapel Hill and has worked in the advertising space for over 12 years. His advertising roles include the Digital Advertising Manager for Mountain Times Publications in Boone, NC, Advertising Director for The Chronicle at Duke University and was part of the Digital Elite team for Lee Enterprises in Bristol, VA. Trey is an expert at matching the correct marketing strategy with client needs. He has made a career of helping small and medium sized businesses accomplish their marketing goals.
 

In his downtime, Trey enjoys riding sports and dirt bikes, and coaching his son’s sports teams. He looks forward to his annual motorcycle pilgrimage to the Western Colorado each summer.

 

Christian Bell

Digital Specialist
Originally from Chattanooga, TN, Christian Bell is a Tusculum University graduate with a strong foundation in digital strategy and client-focused planning. As a Digital Specialist, he is dedicated to crafting tailored solutions that drive success through strategic planning and innovative digital tactics. His expertise lies in helping businesses navigate the ever-evolving digital landscape, ensuring impactful and results-driven marketing strategies.
Beyond his professional work, Christian enjoys spending quality time with his wife and two children, embracing family adventures and the balance that comes with it. His passion for both digital innovation and meaningful connections makes him a valuable asset to every project he takes on.
