SMOKY MOUNTAIN RAILROAD Remembering “The Old Slow & Easy” in Sevierville, Tennessee.

“The Old Slow & Easy” is an exhibit showcasing the Smoky Mountain Railroad at the Sevierville Visitor Center. It’s free to learn about Sevier County’s railroad history at the exhibit, which opened January 9th, 2020 and will be on display throughout 2020.

Project summary

The High Road Agency has had the pleasure of working with Visit Sevierville for several years on its themed visitor center displays. In 2020, “The Old Slow & Easy,” a remarkable exhibit showcasing the Smoky Mountain Railroad, which tells the story of Sevier County’s railroad history, made its debut.

Thousands of visitors have enjoyed touring the display for which HRA designed six lighted panels that feature historic facts and archival photos. We also obtained artifacts for the display cases and created a fictional passenger’s diary, which details a trip on “The Old Slow & Easy.” The display also includes interactive areas, which feature a selfie station and an option for visitors to write and share their own railroad memories.
